How it plays

How a match works

You never control units directly. Winning comes down to what you train, and when.

  1. 01

    Earn gold

You earn gold every second and from every kill. Spend it on units or tower upgrades.

    6 → 21 gold / sec
  2. 02

    Train units

They leave your keep and fight on their own. Pick units that counter what the other player is sending.

    15 units · no micro
  3. 03

    Advance an age

Kills give XP. Enough XP moves you to the next age: new units, more income and another tower.

    Medieval 450 XP → Future 2,400 XP
  4. 04

    Break their keep

Units that reach the enemy keep damage it. After 7:00 both keeps lose health every second, so every match ends.

    1,200 keep HP · overtime 7:00

The units

Each unit has one passive ability that triggers automatically. When you advance to a new age, your shop switches to that age's units.

Counters

What beats what

Armies tend to fall into four types, and each one beats the next. A mixed army is safe. Going all in on one type is strong until your opponent adapts.

  1. Pierce & Splash

    beats Aura Turtle
    Musketeer
    Cannon
    Plasma Artillery

Piercing shots and area damage punish units packed close together.

  2. Aura Turtle

    beats Anchor & Taunt
    Knight
    Crossbowman
    Slinger

Knights give armor to the ranged units behind them, which outlasts a single tank.

  3. Anchor & Taunt

    beats Flankers
    Cuirassier
    Mech Walker
    Clubman

The Cuirassier forces nearby enemies to attack it, so flankers never reach your back line.

  4. Flankers

    beats Pierce & Splash
    Wolf Rider
    Dragoon
    Hover Bike

Fast units slip past the front line and pick off the fragile ranged units behind it.

Base damage bonus: frontline ×1.75 vs ranged · ranged ×1.75 vs fast · fast ×1.75 vs frontline · splash hits everything that bunches up

Evolve

Four ages

You advance by earning XP from kills, so defending well moves you forward too. Each age upgrades your keep, adds a tower and gives you a new ultimate.

FAQ

Do I need an account?
No. Pick a name and play. Guest matches are unranked; accounts and ratings are coming later.
How long is a match?
Most end shortly after 7:00. From then on both keeps lose health every second, and the one that has taken more damage falls first.
Is there any pay-to-win?
No. There is no store. Every player gets the same units, income and towers.
Can I lose to lag?
The match runs on our servers, so a lag spike delays what you see, not what happens.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes, in landscape. Graphics scale down automatically on slower devices.
Do I control units?
No. You decide what to train, when to advance, when to upgrade towers and when to use your ultimate. Units fight on their own.
